Working as freelance graphic designer and photographer using Macintosh computer in my own studio/office or at client locations.

Jobs have included designing a two color promotional flyer for a Caribbean tour operator that was personalized for over thirteen different travel agencies in Central Florida; typesetting/designing several monthly newsletters; designing a brochure, letterhead, envelopes, and business cards for a bagpipe company based in Scotland; designing a pocket folder with die cut inserts for Publix, Lakeland Division to circulate to vendors; concept and layout of a four page insert in a national magazine; and designing several logos. Client list includes International Air Tours, Island Marketing & Publishing, the Florida Audubon Society, the Sanford Chamber of Commerce, Longwood Lincoln Mercury, Erie Canal Cruise Lines, Make-a-Wish Foundation and many other businesses and organizations.

Created several web sites for the Internet, that I also maintain on a regular basis. Web design projects have included creating an on-line presence for a recreational cruise line based in the North East, creating a “brochure” site for a vacation attraction in New York), developing and creating a website for an office supply company and a women's designer laptop bag company. Classic Graphics Printing

Serve as Art Director and Graphic Designer for this commercial print shop, while maintaining my freelance business. Responsibilities at this commercial print shop include:

Graphic Design/Prepress

  • Typeset/design annual reports, flyers, brochures, identity packages, etc.

  • Conceptualize and create multifaceted projects from start to finish

  • Prepare, preflight and repair files as needed for electronic output to film

  • Maintain and service in-house imagesetter and film processer

  • Transmit files (usually PDF versions) to clients for proofs

  • Color separate files and/or trap files, as needed

  • Create logos for clients from concept to finish

  • Create web sites for clients, including concept, graphics, HTML coding, Javascript, PHP and CGI scripts

  • Created and maintained company web site

Accounting/Estimating

  • Estimate all in house and outside jobs from standard to booklets, from one color to full color, using the Franklin Computerized Estimating Program

  • Work with outside vendors on quotes for farmed out jobs

  • Invoicing and accounts receivable responsibility using Peachtree accounting software

  • Prepare purchase order for outside vendors

  • Order paper and printing supplies, as needed, for jobs

Customer Service

  • Work one-on-one with clients to help them achieve the best possible printed piece

  • Inform and educate clients on the best possible ways to produce their projects

  • Spec paper and inks for printing

  • Write up work orders for printing and maintain work flow in shop, for which I wrote (programmed) an order entry/job tracking system using Panorama database software and SQL language
